CBC Action News: Mark Rather Anchoring.
"Good evening. This is CBC Action news. Our top story; Martian crime syndicates on the decline? Our sources inform us that the despicable criminal dynasties that may not hold the sway that they enjoyed in decades past. ISSP is cracking down on organized crime on Mars, and they have confirmed that power struggles have crippled the largest of the syndicates, and the others are fighting amongst each other in bloody turf wars in power vaccuum created. For more on this, we're turning to senior journalist Amy Morgan. Amy, what does this mean for the average martian citizen?"
Senior Journalist Amy Morgan
Thanks Mark. While we only have to speculate at this point, it seems that most of the more violent confrontations have been in mildly populated areas, or industrial sites, and civilian casualties have been minimal, but the ISSP speculate that the blood fueds could spill into residential neighborhoods soon, and that the risk to citizens could be increasing."
Anchor Mark Rather
"And what about the Bounty Hunters? Has the government made any efforts to post rewards for these criminals, to help lighten ISSP's organized crime load?"
Senior Journalist Amy Morgan
"The Martian government has made no official statements regarding their policy on organized crime, however, inside sources claim that many politicians are still on the Syndicates' payroll, and are desperately trying to subvert any effort to clean up Martian streets."
Anchor Mark Rather
"And some even claim that the corruption in the ISSP will eventually hamstring their efforts to take down Mars's criminal factions as well. Is there any truth to that statement, Amy?"
Senior Journalist Amy Morgan
"As of now the ISSP is disregarding any question of their efforts to bring these syndicates down. They tell me that they are putting every resource into battling the syndicates, no matter the costs or casualties. Reporting from ISSP headquarters, this is Amy Morgan."
